Our cup game on Sunday, gave me a much better insight into the character of the players here at Milewalk. I know that we have some individually gifted players, but how would they react when the going gets tough?. Would they bond well as a team?. Well those questions where answered somewhat at the weekend. After our last game against wine bar heads where down, to a man nearly everyone was below parr, just did not perform, so we had to have a positive performance against our next opponents Bank Qhay. We started very badly again, and wher 1-0 down quite quickly, we where not putting passes together, and even failed to compete physically. I must admit I started to doubt the lads, and despaired at their lack of effort, and intelligence. Sorry I should not have said lack of effort, as effort was put in but it was the old headless chicken scenario players where running around but achieving nothing. I am pleased to say though that with a little shuffling of the positions and the quality of our substitutes the team became balanced, and started to play outside of themselves, I began to enjoy the game. As I have said so often it is only when the players are enjoying themselves that quality will shine through, and it did in bucket loads we looked class at times, and I know we can improve.

It is at this point however that I must mention not just the spirit of the players on the park but more importantly the players who came off, they took the the decision to be pulled off like men. I NOW HAVE A TEAM!.

There is one player I have to mention with merit, and that is Kevin, to me Kev epitomizes what I want in a football team!

He takes criticism obeys instruction, trains well, and will do anything for Milewalk FC,as shown on Sunday by refereeing, when he should have been playing, he did it for the team. When you next see him give him a pat on the back, axcept you Peter you are a bit hard LOL., anyway well done Kev and the boys. Bring on phoenix
